Facebook has made significant changes over the past years that directly affect not just the reach of posts but also the ability to advertise.
I've submitted many ads to Facebook that have been rejected due to 'sexual or suggestive content'.  Yet each day I scroll through my Facebook wall and see images from other companies or groups designed to sexualixe women & see mjch more "nasty" content then what I share.

When I started doing boudoir I know my style was super safe I did the typical look at Pinterest and basically copy the ideas I saw on there. But now five years into this I’ve grown to love pushing the limits. The hardest struggle for me is the censorship that is social media. Social media is my number one marketing platform. I’ve tried emails and a few other avenues but when it comes down to it Facebook basically is my livelihood. Between my page my group and the networking that is social media that’s how I run my business.


Every time I get a Facebook ban a little part of my soul gets crushed. With the current 30 day ban that I have now it’s teaching me a lot more about myself than I realized. The challenge to market and other directions it’s definitely been a struggle and it’s only been a week. Having to figure out how I can run my business without Facebook has not been easy.

But when it comes down to it why are boudoir photographers always the ones having to deal with the most censorship. There are countless groups that are way more inappropriate. I’ve seen peoples personal Facebook speak shut down years of memories gone because they post something that the Facebook boys deem unfit. Meanwhile we have groups that whole child pornography and even much worse.


We are nothing more than a small businesses just trying to thrive in this world. There are ways to help small businesses that deal with this kind of problem. Of course there’s the website and other social media platforms, but we depend on you for word of mouth recommendations. Sharing post commenting on our page just any kind of interaction can make a world of difference on a small business page that has to fight the tyranny that is censorship!


So I’m asking you as a small business owner please help support who are photographers and anyone with a small business, help us beat the censorship and help us fight those who are trying to silence our message!
