"Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over." - Octavia E. ButlerTheres a lot I can say about those who are closest to me. They put up with a lot of shit from me. But one things for certain, I have some of the most amazing people in my life. Three years ago this sweet and innocent woman booked a shoot with me. She was quiet at first but quickly opened up like most clients do. But I knew this one was going to be someone who was going to be in my life for awhile. She’s been there through my divorce and a lot of dark days. She’s also been by my side through the celebration of some of the biggest achievements I’ve reached. We’re polar opposites but we somehow work well together. We share different political views. We share different options on a lot of things. But we’re both able to learn from that difference and grow together. So for her birthday this year I knew I needed to make this a special one for her. It was literally a random idea I got Friday morning while we were talking about something completely unrelated to pictures and birthdays. And after a quick trip to the store we set off on one of the most random and fun days ever. Not having a single idea of what we were doing, it was just a day to be silly and have fun. Looking back over the pictures that night made me realize how much I love to see her smile. After all the pain and rocky roads she’s been through this year it was nice to just see her happy, really happy. Don’t worry… it’s about to get to the good part… but wait... theres more....
